Leading the way

Before joining World Vision Mali, I taught briefly at Mali Univers; following an Assistantship. Mali Univers is located in Bamako, our Capital City and hosts Children from mostly Malian middle class families – many of them born around our world. They are taught computer classes, music, Spanish, along with French and English since the start. With the envy to broaden my experience and the hope to help other Children in much more need, I would join World Vision Mali and find my way within distant and rural Communities. As I labored through Project Communities, I am reminded the gap between the Capital City and those Communities, not only in terms of distance but also opportunity. Children in those Communities start at school in our Local Languages and are taught with basic materials and often options. Working within those Communities over almost the past 3 years, has broadened my views on the issue. Boosting Education within those Communities and making sure that no Child is left behind will help to boost our overall development as a Country.

Making a difference

I recently visited in N’Temena, the two Children (a girl and a boy, both of 2007) I have been sponsoring with World Vision Mali since May 2011. My sponsorship has helped the girl start school last October, and the boy will follow that coming October. Out of the crisis the Country is going through (and trying to go out); my commitment has reminded me how important it is to not only stand for our own dreams, but also to help others do the same.

Leaving a legacy

My work of Child Sponsorship Supervisor at World Vision Mali, has taken me to the very remote areas of the Country to labor within Project Communities. I have been working to help Children getting a decent shot at life, which will prepare them to become responsible adults and citizens.

Championing a cause

I have been working with World Vision Mali as a Child Sponsorship Supervisor since February 2011, following a ten month Internship from November 2009 to September 2010. I have been working on a Program supported by World Vision Taiwan, to help Children reach their full potential.
